3 Stages to an Organized Move:

De-cluttering to Sell

  • Is different than organizing to live.
  • Get rid of any excess.
  • Pack up unnecessary and off season items.
  • Reduce furniture.
  • De-personalize. Pack up family pictures, trophies, certificates, etc.
  • You will save money on moving expenses by moving less stuff.
  • Goal: highlight your home, not your stuff . Show that there is plenty of room, buyers will envision themselves in the space.

Organized Pack

  • Pack like with like when organizing your move.
  • Label boxes with the rooms the items will be going into at the new home.
  • Keep an inventory of each box.
  • Use the ABC system with each box
  • A = open immediately
  • B = open within a week or so
  • C = if it sits in storage for 3-6 months, that’s okay
  • Ask us about our Moving/Relocating Binder to help organize your move.

Unpack & Organize

  • Our system will be easy for you to unpack when you have an organized move.
  • You will have another opportunity to de-clutter when relocated to your new space.
  • Find a home for everything when unpacking.
  • Set a reasonable deadline to unpack everything.
  • Keep in mind that if you cannot find a home or haven’t unpacked it in a reasonable amount of time, you probably do not need it.

Our De-clutter to Sell, Organized Pack, and Unpack & Organize services are wonderful for anyone, but are especially valuable to executives, sales professionals, stay-at-home moms with multiple young children and people with physical disabilities.
